Genealogists Danny Leshikar (cq) of Liberty, Missouri and Richard Lesikar (cq) of Granbury, Texas will offer free help for descendants of Czech immigrants looking for information about their families.
“We will help people begin building a family tree or add to their own information,” said Richard Lesikar. “We will not post this information to social media or on websites such as Ancestry.com,” he said.
The two genealogists will be in Temple from October 4 to October 10 and are taking appointments now. “We’d love to have the opportunity to visit you in your home, share the data and or photographs Danny has of your family and at the same time gather data that are missing from your family tree,” said Richard Lesikar. They will also meet participants at the Czech Heritage Museum in Temple if that is more convenient. For appointments and more information, contact Richard Lesikar at rlesikar@charter.net or call 682-936-6034.
Danny Leshikar presently has a database of more than 81,000 entries which includes names, information and photographs. He and Richard Lesikar use this information to build family trees at no cost. “We are blessed that some Czech genealogists such as Edmund Hejl, Albert Blaha, Jim and Mildred (Skrabanek) Hejl had the foresight to gather, translate and publish information of our Czech heritage,” said Richard Lesikar. “These people, who are now all deceased, helped lay the foundation for Danny’s work.”
